Default Question about Weapon Mods

How does the rounding work with weapon mods that increase duration of conditions? For example, if my skill currently Cripples the enemy for 5 seconds, if I add a Crippling mod to my sword, and 5 x 1.33 = 6.65 seconds, is the enemy now Crippled for 6 seconds or does it get rounded up to 7 seconds? Thanks.

I'm fairly certain it doesn't round up.

I think it would cripple for 6.65 seconds. I'm pretty sure Guild Wars can handle more than just integers (see fast casting reduced cast times).

Guild wars always truncates the decimal off.... just like you will never see 1.5 dmg its just 1... same goes for most other math in guild wars... thou casting times are calculated with milliseconds as whole integers. I'm pretty confident that durations are calculated with seconds as whole integers and are truncated at the nearest whole seconds....so if u had a 6.9999 duration it gets truncated to 6... It is something worth testing.

Ancestor's Rage lasted for 2 seconds with an enchanting mod when it was a 1s enchantment.

this ancestors rage?

http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Ancestor%27s_Rage

doesn't make since... its not an enchantment.... and 20% longer would be 1.2 seconds... even rounding doesn't get you to 2.

Before November 2007.

It's the same with Patient Spirit. 2 seconds goes to 3 instead of 2.

ah, i didn't get the 2007 context of "was".... so does durations of both enchantments and conditions have same math properties?... does the "next whole number" rule apply to all durations or just one where the +20% bonus is less than 1? (IE does a enchantment with a base duration of 6 get extended to 7 or 8 seconds when used with a +20% bonus (1.2 second bonus)... this means my math could be slightly off when making builds, i been truncating all decimals.....I hope the math is a lil more consistent in GW2...
